Passel Provides Programs

From delivering protein to rural food pantries to supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders, our programs are designed to create lasting impact in the communities we serve.

P.O.W.E.R. Program

Protein Outreach With Educational Resources

A plastic bag filled with numerous small white bags tied at the top, containing a powdery substance, possibly documentation indicating they might contain a substance or product, arranged on a cluttered background.

Our P.O.W.E.R. Program creates a powerful multiplication effect: every dollar we invest supports Animal Science and Meat Science programs at partner universities while supplying high-quality meat to rural food pantries. We honor our university meat lab partners by purchasing protein from their programs, which supports agricultural education. That same protein is then donated to rural food pantries, ensuring families have access to high-quality meat. One dollar. Two impacts.

The Impact

  • Over 235,000 lbs. of meat donated since 2020

  • 8,000 lbs. of meat donated in 2025 through partnerships with Iowa State University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and other university meat labs

  • Serving approximately 15 food panties in Iowa and Nebraska and expanding

  • Supporting on-campus food pantries including SHOP at Iowa State University and the Husker Food Pantry and UNL

Snak-Kits

Weekend Food Security for Students

Array of grocery items on a white surface including a cheese danish, a green container of apple sauce, a box of frosted flakes cereal, a bag of salted peanuts, a roll of lunch meat, a chocolate low-fat milk carton, a strawberry nutri-grain bar, a string cheese package, a fruit punch juice box, and a snack cracker bag.

Guidance counselors tell us this program is a lifeline for students who depend on it—especially those without reliable utilities at home. When kids don't have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, they can focus on learning.

Hungry kids can't learn. That's why Snak-Kits provides weekend food bags to students in Clarendon County, South Carolina who face food insecurity. Every bag is filled with brand-name, ready-to-eat food—so kids are eating what their peers eat, with dignity.

The Impact

  • Served over 350 students every weekend in 2025

  • All food is brand-name, shelf-stable, and requires no preparation (no water or electricity needed)

  • Focus on protein-rich items like pork sticks, plus cereal, trail mix, and other nutritious essentials

  • Backpacks are placed in lockers during recess so students aren't singled out

Each fall, we host our annual golf tournament to raise funds for the P.O.W.E.R. Program. In 2025, we raised over $58,000 thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and participants.
